Upcoming Projects and Short Film Pre Production

Screenshot from upcoming Chesterfield Queens Park Sports Centre Video. It’s really coming together nicely, really looking forward to showing the final video. Promotional Videos for Staveley Healthy Living Centre, The PK Group, Equisio Massage Therapy, a huge contract I’m in the running for, and a new sport I’m not permitted to talk about, on the way! Also, my first Short Film “Islands” is piecing together nicely. Been location scouting and have found some fantastic setups. 2014. Things are looking good. This first year has taken some really hard work to get noticed, long may it continue. I love my job, and I love telling your stories. GH4 Slow Motion Test

GH4 Slow Motion Test

While the GH4 is a fantastic camera, I was excited to test out it’s new 96fps function. So we went to Crich Tramways Village. It performed fantastically, although I feel the image is a little soft. This is probably due to the Canon 24-70mm f2.8 lens which was used, adapted to the GH4. Subsequent shoots with a Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 have been MUCH sharper, so I’m sure it’s just the Canon/GH4 combo that’s soft. It’ll be interesting to see how the footage looks shot at 60fps and slowed down in post/twixtored. I also graded the footage to give it a “retro” film feel. Kit Used: Panasonic GH4, EOS-M43 Adapter, Canon 24-70mm f2.8 Lens, Lightcraft Workshop ND Fader II Anyway, take a...

Recent Projects Update

I’ve been busy over the weekend on two new shoots, one for Chesterfield Leisure Centre, and the other, a GH4 Slow Motion test. The leisure centre video won’t be out for a few months as we continue to shoot it, but hopefully I’ll have the GH4 Slow Motion Test up over the next few days. It was great fun, what a fantastic camera, and so small! I did admittedly get some funny looks from Clients though when I pulled such a small camera out to shoot. The BMCC Kit was next to me though so confidence was restored lol. Here’s a couple of screenshots from both projects: Queens Park Leisure...

SLR Magic Anamorphot Lens test.

Posted by on 4:29 pm in BTS | 0 comments

When it suits the style or subject of a project, I like to take time choosing what lens(es) best suit the work. Having used older anamorphic a for a while, it was great to discover that SLR Magic are producing new models of anamorphics. I feel it gives digital video more “film” like characteristics and appearance. Watch the short test video to see what I mean:...
